Our Accounting team is looking to add a Senior Accountant to focus on sales commission, partner referral fees, and cloud marketplace fees. You will provide ideas and help brainstorm on process standardization, automation, and improvement in all aspects of the accounting process to ensure their scalability and continuing effectiveness amid all the changes that Snowflake has been undergoing. You are good at creating and maintaining robust process documentation. You adhere to the internal controls as specified by Company policies. You are expected to collaborate with cross functional business partners. This will be a hybrid position based in Menlo Park, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform monthly and quarterly close responsibilities including journal entries and reconciliations

  • Explain monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and variances

  • Take ownership of both balance sheet and P&L accounts and develop analytical reviews of those accounts

  • Prepare disclosure schedules for quarterly financial filings

  • Support internal and external audit requirements related to specific assigned areas

  • Ensure SOX compliance (perform control procedures, including appropriate documentation)

  • Play key role in the sales commissions accounting process and drive related automation projects

  • Collaborate with FP&A, Sales, Tax, Legal, HR, Payroll and other cross-functional teams to gather data, improve processes, and support business needs

  • Work closely with the Accounting Manager on special projects primarily focused on streamlining processes while maintaining financial statement accuracy

  • Supervise and mentor offshore team

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree in business, Finance, or Accounting, CPA preferred

  • 5+ years of combined experience in public accounting and in a corporate accounting role

  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, and experience operating within SOX control environment

  • Workday ERP experience preferred, or experience with other larger ERP system

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (v/h lookups, pivot tables, complex functions) and the ability to work with large volumes of data with speed and accuracy

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment

  • Attention to detail, organized and thorough with the desire for continuous improvement

  • Proactive and problem-solving attitude

  • Adapts quickly to changes in a dynamic organizational structure and business processes

  • Flexible with working hours
