Senior UX Manager, Observe by Snowflake

Apply Job ID 5f82009a-104d-49e6-ad0d-b3924a3a1a48 Date posted 04/13/2026

At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.

Observe by Snowflake is an AI-powered observability platform built on the Snowflake AI Data Cloud and engineered for scale. We ingest and store logs, metrics, traces, and events on an open, scalable data lakehouse, using open formats like Apache Iceberg, at dramatically lower cost. A dynamic Context Graph and chat-based AI SRE provide rich context and automated workflows so teams can move from detection to root cause and resolution 10x faster.

Leading engineering teams at companies like Capital One, Topgolf, and Dialpad rely on Observe to troubleshoot hundreds of terabytes of telemetry daily while maintaining reliability at enterprise scale. As part of Snowflake, Observe combines startup-style ownership and velocity with the global reach, operational excellence, and ecosystem of one of the world’s leading data platforms.

As a Senior UX Manager you thrive in high-velocity, experimental environments, thinks in AI-systems and code, and leads teams confidently through ambiguity. You will lead design across core Observe surfaces — including the AI SRE, APM, Metrics, Log/Trace Explorers, and the Observability Context Graph — defining UX strategy for a product category being reshaped by AI. You will partner tightly with product and engineering leadership as a co-architect of our user experience, while managing and growing a high-trust, technically fluent design team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead UX strategy across Observe's core surfaces: AI SRE, service maps, log/metric/trace explorers, dashboards, alerting, and onboarding flows

  • Champion AI-native design patterns that meet SREs, developers, and executives in their native workflows (IDE via MCP, CLI, chat, visualization)

  • Partner with senior PM and engineering leadership as a co-architect of product and UX strategy, ensuring every design decision maps to customer outcomes and business impact

  • Manage and grow a diverse, technically fluent design team with a focus on career development, AI upskilling, and design craft

  • Drive a prototype-first, code-enabled design culture that validates ideas fast and ships with velocity

  • Define interaction models for complex observability workflows — incident investigation, root cause analysis, service dependency mapping — at enterprise scale

  • Anticipate how AI agents and agentic workflows reshape user intent, mental models, and the role of human-in-the-loop in observability

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years designing complex, data-heavy developer or infrastructure products

  • Deep familiarity with observability, monitoring, or incident management user workflows — ideally as a practitioner or through close collaboration with SRE/platform teams

  • Demonstrated ability to design for AI-native surfaces: chat interfaces, agent workflows, context-aware UI, and explainability patterns

  • Track record of shipping high-quality work at speed using iterative, prototype-driven processes

  • Strong systems thinking — ability to define data interaction patterns, behavioral models, and object relationships across a complex, multi-surface product

  • Experience managing and developing high-performing design teams in fast-moving, acquisition-stage or startup environments

  • Excellent communication skills — ability to articulate design strategy to engineers, PMs, and executives, and to align cross-functional stakeholders across a matrixed organization

Bonus Points

  • Background as an SRE, developer, or platform engineer who has experienced incident response firsthand

  • Experience designing MCP-integrated or CLI-adjacent developer tools

  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, or observability platforms

  • Experience contributing code to the product

Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
