Snowflake is looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented strategic Senior Buyer to join our Global Procurement team. In this role, you will be a key player in managing a diverse portfolio of indirect spend and end-to-end lifecycle of our Software, SaaS, Workplace, Marketing categories. You will partner closely with stakeholders in IT, Engineering, Marketing, GTM, Workplace and Legal to execute strategic sourcing events, negotiate complex contracts, and ensure we are maximizing value while minimizing risk.
This is a unique opportunity to help scale our procurement operations as we continue to grow, utilizing best-in-class tools like Zip, Workday, and ServiceNow.
Key Responsibilities
Category Management: Lead the Procurement strategy for the Software, SaaS, Workplace, Marketing categories, including renewals, new expansions, and enterprise-wide platform adoptions.
Strategic Sourcing: Execute RFPs, RFIs, and informal bid processes to identify the best vendors for Snowflake’s technical and business needs.
Negotiation & Contracting: Lead commercial negotiations for SaaS agreements, MSAs, NDAs, SOWs, and Order Forms. Partner with Legal, Security, and TPRM teams to ensure all contracts meet Snowflake’s risk standards.
Stakeholder Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to internal Business Owners, helping them navigate the procurement process (Zip / Workday) and providing market intelligence to inform their buying decisions.
Strategic Partnership: Act as a strategic Procurement business partner and primary liaison for designated functions, providing expert guidance on sourcing projects, vendor onboarding, and lifecycle management to drive organizational efficiency.
Process Optimization: Drive efficiency in the Source-to-Pay (S2P) process, ensuring accurate PO creation in Workday and timely vendor onboarding.
Project Leadership: Lead diverse, cross-departmental procurement projects by adapting communication and project management styles to effectively engage with stakeholders across varying skill sets and seniority levels
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Monitor vendor performance and manage renewals proactively (90-120 days out) to avoid service disruptions and late fees.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze spend data to identify consolidation opportunities, shadow IT, and cost-saving initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience: 8+ years of experience in Global Procurement, with strong understanding end to end Source-to-Pay life cycle and specifically focused on Software and SaaS categories in a global corporate environment.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of SaaS licensing models (per seat, consumption-based, enterprise license agreements).
Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Zip (Intake-to-Procure) and Workday (ERP) is highly preferred. Familiarity with ServiceNow and Ironclad is a plus.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels (including US-based leadership).
Leadership Capability: Proven ability to work independently and the flexibility to manage or mentor a small team as organizational needs evolve
Negotiation: Proven track record of achieving significant cost savings and favorable commercial terms (e.g., indemnity, SLAs, price caps).
Project Management: Ability to manage a high volume of concurrent requests in a fast-paced, "hyper-growth" environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Experience in the Tech/Cloud industry.
Understanding of TPRM (Third-Party Risk Management) and GDPR/Data Privacy requirements during the software intake process.
